Employment Progress
If you feel that your previous convictions are a barrier to you finding work, let us help you make that first step back into employment.
This is an eight week programme designed to give you the skills, training and confidence you need to find a job.
We have the experience and expertise that has helped thousands of people back into work, including ex-offenders.
How it works
You’ll attend an initial two week course that includes tutor–led group sessions on budgeting, employability skills, motivation and resilience as well as exploring and testing the perceived barriers of ex-offenders and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You’ll also be assigned a Mentor who will develop a personal action plan with you detailing the activities you’ll take part in to reach your goals. Your Mentor will provide you with support, advice and guidance throughout the programme and can also help you access support organisations to help with drug, alcohol or housing issues.
Once you’ve successfully completed step one we’ll help you find a work experience placement with a local employer. The placement will last for three weeks, for a minimum of 15 hrs per week across key employment sectors including Hospitality, Catering, Contact Centre, Customer Service, Cleaners/Domestic, Warehouse & storage
In this final stage we focus on finding a job that fits your needs and aspirations and we will help with everything you need to get going including CV review and development, Universal Job match, online job searching and the use of social media, job application methods, interview skills, job matching and Keeping a Job.
Our support
Your dedicated mentor will provide ongoing support for up to 13 weeks while you settle into your new job and help you with any number of challenges you may face whether it’s the transition from benefits to wages, issues at home or lifestyle and routine changes.
We can also help you with your travel costs and childcare expenses while you’re participating on the programme.
